Alright I'm done with the spamming spree here. Sweet! I still remember this post. It took 6 days to spit out about 100 news posts, and even then I was lazy at times to post news posts here (but I did it in the SMBS account). So if we divide 100 by 6 it will give us a post rate of 17 posts per day! That actually is not bad. Not the greatest, but definitely not the worst either. The top possible posting speed of news posts is 48 news posts per day, and that means getting in a news post EVERY TIME the limit permits. With school and sleep on my schedule, FUCK no I will not achieve that limit. Maybe my top speed will be about 31 if I'm lucky, but that's in rare occasions. Daily I try to get 20 news posts in.
Regardless, even with that said, I still need 150 more blank posts in order to actually gain enough news posts to finish the preliminaries on the SMBS account. After the preliminaries, there will be Newgrounds' History, a glossary of Newgrounds' Terminology, Newgrounds' navigation in a nutshell, and then finally we'll go to topic #2 which I believe is a user's account configurations and crap.
48 news posts per day... I am positive that nobody can post 48 BBS posts in a single day (and the posting limits on the BBS are ironically lighter than the news post posting limits; compare 4 posts per 120 minutes to 4 posts per 30 minutes), let alone post 48 news posts...
Anyway, this post is to just say that the spamming spree here is over. The SMBS one isn't however. I will be using the 90-100 news posts here to store sections of the NG Guide temporarily so that when the SMBS account gets to that section I will withdraw news posts from here and post them there. It will save plenty of time in the future. Some of the things I intend to post on how to do crap is:
- How to link to specific posts on the BBS (3 ways to do this) [And the script by knugen is not 1 of the 3 ways. In fact, the NG Guide will NOT mention or link to any of the fan-made scripts or websites made to help with these features for they are what I call "unreliable resources"]
- How to link to specific comments on user pages (2 ways to do this)
- How to link to specific comment responses on user pages (2 ways to do this)
- How to link to specific reviews in submissions (2 ways to do this)*
- How to link to specific review responses in submissions (1-2 ways to do this)*
- How to incorporate a "Post Reply" button in a news post so that it drops down to the "Leave a comment!" or "Share this!" section
- How to link to other elements of the site, such as a users' (including yourself) B/P rank, whistle, EXP rank, and such
- Quick links to certain sections of the FAQ (like a link to the list of mods) for easy copy & paste
- How to enable the browser to smoothly scroll to a certain review/response/comment/BBS post (like in the FAQ)
- BBS guides
- Review guides
- NG Guide History Post**
- ...and more!
*Due to the fact that I do not know how the review moderators' tools are displayed as, one of the ways may not be possible. But there IS a way to link to them nevertheless. Besides, the second option is only available to the review mods anyway, so it's not useful to the users in any shape or form.
**The history post will contain the entire history of the Newgrounds Guide, and also my BBS history is tied with the NG Guide history so if you want to see my shitty BBS experience and why I make a big fuss about it go in there when it's up. It also will always be in construction, and secrets that I didn't tell to my friends or the moderators are also hidden there.
The linking to specific portions of a webpage on Newgrounds will take a LARGE amount of news posts. Primarily because only 1 image can be uploaded in each post. I already can predict about 80 news posts eaten up when finishing all of them. When I lose all 100 news posts, I'll go on another spamming spree again, except it will be 50 news posts (and knowing the BBS guides, they will easily eat up all 50 news posts). Remember that this is a "Newgrounds Guide For Dummies" so I have to go in detail each fucking step.
In any case, that wraps up that crap. Open discussion post I suppose.
Tomorrow I'll post a better, more legit post.
Fun fact: This image below is EXACTLY 150 KB large; one byte above this file size and NG would have rejected it. A NEW RECORD!
